Graphics and Icons for Carleton

Icons created for Carleton Online following a red/black/white/grey colour scheme

Above are some of the icons I created for Carleton Online using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. For branding consistency, the icons all follow a similar Carleton colour scheme. Some even have extra Carleton features such as the Raven mascot logo.

As a continuation of my previous post, I have been working on developing a collection of icons for Carleton Online to use on their website as well as infographics. I tried to keep them general enough so that the same icon can be used for a variety of different topics in the future. The purpose of the icons below are to display as buttons for quick links on the homepage and throughout the website.

An example of my proposed graphics in comparison with the existing graphics for the quick links section is shown below.

The major challenge of designing these icons was the abstract nature of the topics. For example, developing graphics to illustrate the concepts of "asynchronous learning", "responsibility", or "self-management". Therefore the ideation process was more time consuming than the technical aspect of creating the visuals.

Additionally, below is an image of the first set of icons arranged in a banner image I created specifically for the Online Learning Orientation project, which is an online course aiming to educate students on strategies for learning online as especially prevalent in current COVID-19 times.
Below is an example of one of the presentation slides I designed using Microsoft PowerPoint.
