Created for Human-Computer Interaction class, the objective was to redesign a museum exhibit and improve it in terms of making a more goal-oriented interaction. As a class, we first visited the museum to identify exhibits that we believed should be improved and why. From this report, several group leaders were selected based on their responses.
My observed exhibit was selected as one of the project groups. The exhibit chosen was a sci-fi interactive with multiple screens and a set of physical controls. As a group of 4, we visited the museum to conduct ethics approved research on willing participants we observed interacting with our exhibit of choice. We conducted semi-structured interviews to determine pain points and to better understand what the target user would like to gain from the experience.
We analyzed the results and created personas and task analyses for 3 tasks that we would like users to be able to accomplish with our design.Throughout the semester, we created multiple prototypes (from low to high fidelity) and tested them to verify our design choices. Below are some of the design sketches I created for the interactive experience.
