Infographics work (Summer 2020) |
This past summer, I worked at Carleton University as an Educational Media Assistant. My responsibilities in addition to creating and updating online course content included designing and creating icons, infographics, and graphics for use in an educational context and social media promotion.
The target audience for majority of the content was students, which I could relate to very well. There was also later a requirement to use Carleton colours in the designs to maintain consistency and branding. I created some graphics prior to being notified of this, so some images have two versions. The official colours are dark and saturated; difficult to use in more lighthearted designs. Fortunately, I was able to have some creative freedom with the colours (i.e. using lighter tones of the official colours). Since the infographics are adapted from existing articles, there is a lot of text that I needed to include, at least until a summarized version can be approved.
Above are some examples of my infographics work using Canva, and Adobe Photoshop. Free media from Canva were used in my own layout designs.
These graphics are also hosted on the Carleton Online website as Online Learning Resources and some are posted to their Twitter page.
